Tomorrow’s the big day.
Right now I’m eating about a cup each of tuna and cottage cheese (mixed together, not bad) and a cup of coffee (probably brewed at 8:30 this morning, not good). I’m not sure that’s ideal pre-race food, but it’s a lunch at my desk, reasonably filling, and that’s good enough for me.

I got my start time for Saturday’s stair climb - 10:12:00am. I also have one more workout (Friday morning) to go before the event. I’m trying to decide what I’m going to do. Obviously, I don’t want to push anything too hard. Need to be fresh for the event.
I’m also trying to figure out what [...]

…releases you from any further obligation. Thank you for your time.
After three days of voir dire, I am free to go about my regularly scheduled life. The case would have been an interesting one - sequestered for a week and a half or so of evidence, four dead, three of them children. I certainly would [...]

It’s been a little more than a week, but things are mostly back to normal. It’s 12:00am here, I’m trying to stay caught up on work, emails, etc. Time’s short. This post will be likewise.
I spent today waiting to be called onto a jury. I have been neither chosen yet, nor released from duty. I [...]

Only moderate success.
We just moved seats at [...]
Some days there are more important things to write about than training. It’s on those days, I think, that it’s hardest to start writing anything.
Basic Story

…but first.
Master the Met
I’ve augmented my training lately to focus a bit more on muscular endurance and lactic acid tolerance. As mentioned before, I’m participating in a fund raiser called Master the Met.
It’s a race up 42 flights of stairs - collecting money for the American Lung Association. (One of my co-workers has a theory [...]
It snowed ‘cats and dogs’ here last night. Started yesterday afternoon and continued on throughout most of the night. Some parts were left with 11 inches of snow. I’d say we got around 6 inches or so.
The gym population this morning was the lady at the front desk, me, Marathoner, and an old guy who [...]
