Back To Normal

It’s been a little more than a week, but things are mostly back to normal. It’s 12:00am here, I’m trying to stay caught up on work, emails, etc. Time’s short. This post will be likewise.

I spent today waiting to be called onto a jury. I have been neither chosen yet, nor released from duty. I report back tomorrow for more of the same.

Quotes From the Day

Scene: Sitting in a coffee shop, drinking coffee and reading the paper before I’m supposed to report to the court house. There is a group of old men (70+) who look like regulars. They’re bantering back and forth about topics of the day - mostly politics, it seems. I’m not really paying attention until…

Old Man 1 (to Old Man 2):
What the hell are you running for? Most cantankerous old man in town?
Old Man 2:
Fuck you! I was voted to that post long ago. No contest.

Scene: Sitting in the jury waiting room, waiting to be called away to voir dire.

Bailiff (to crowd):
I’m going to call out 50 names. When you hear your name, say “here” so I know you’re here, and then meet me in this back hallway.
~names being called~
Number 43…er…uh…Malicious McGee?
Mr. McGee:
Here

I could be so cool if I had a name like that…

On the hops I got 78 in the first round, 85 in the second round and 81 in the third round. 90 seconds is a long time to hop! During the third set of burpees I fell on my face once. That kinda sucked. But I played it off pretty well. Other than that, not a bad first day back.

Excellent to have you back, Mr. McGee.

The people have been demanding more CES!

I had jury duty about this time last year. A pain to take time off from work, but all in all, a pretty interesting experience. That being said, I hope you’re not hung up with it for too much longer anyway.

For a year I went to a Super Sircuit (yes, that’s how they spelled it) class taught by two hott, if not particularly bright, 20-year old dudes. It was a really good class and, well, taught by two hott 20-year old dudes. Anyway, they made us do burpees all the time. It hates the burpees. Hates. But I’ll do ‘em for hott dudes.

    Glad you’re feeling better.
