Rock’n'Roll High School

The Blues and the Cardindals both lost last night.

On the upside, the local radio was playing The Ramones’ Rock’n'Roll High School when I got in the car this morning.

Workout

Warm Up - 3 Rounds
P1: 20x (10x ea. dir.) RTW @ 16kg KB
P2: 15x Push ups
P3: 20x (10x ea. arm) Snatch @ 16kg KB
Switch until everyone has done each station.
That’s one round. We did three.
Work - 3 Rounds
P1: 400m run
P2: long cycle C&Js @ 2×16kg KB
P3: Rest & Count
P2 does C&Js until run is finished. P3 helps count.
Switch until everyone has done each station.
Guy w/ the least # of C&Js does Penalty of 15x Push Ups
That’s one round. We did three.

Three was brutal. At the end of round two we were all huffing and puffing. Even Marathoner was gasping for air and having no fun at all. I thought at least one of us (not sure which one) was going to lose breakfast…or last night’s dinner.

I put up 24 my first round, 21 the second and then 24 again on the third round. My third round success had more to do with Marathoner really dying on his third 400m than on any great fitness of my own. Whatever the outcome, I was happy not to have been the “15-push-up-loser” even once.

After that we took turns carrying the 2 KBs. Each person did a 100m carry in each of the four styles:

  • both overhead
  • one overhead, other Farmer’s Carry
  • more of the same, but switch arms
  • Rack Carry

That was enough for one morning. We called it a day and walked home.

Haven’t seen a blues game all year.. I’m not so broken up about it. At least the cards scored some runs, and could be worse.

And now the Cards are 5 and 1!
    I don’t think we’ve seen a 5 and 1 start since, I don’t know, maybe 2001 or so?

Listened to the game on the radio yesterday. I’m very excited about the season.
