Del the Funky Homosapien, that is. I’ve been listening to Both Sides of the Brain the last couple days. I forgot how much I liked it. Now I remember, and it’s awesome.
We’re about a week before rolling a new release to pre-prod, so I’m in 6th gear sprint mode. Head down, sleeves rolled up, headphones on, Del loud, flyin’ fingers, burnin’ through code, gettin’ lots of good stuff done.
In some ways I really like this part of a project. All the meetings are done, everybody knows exactly what needs to be done. The only thing standing between me and success is…me. No excuses. Nobody gets in the way. Make a list and get to work.
I’m the difference between Hanna-Barbara

Mikayla Is Here!
As I was typing that last sentence up above, I got a phone call from my dad. At 11:10 -5 GMT this morning my cousin’s wife gave birth to their first child, Mikayla. She’s healthy, ten fingers, ten toes, etc.
She is my grandmother’s third grandchild (after our two). Super-exciting. Welcome to the family, Mikayla.
Workout
- Warm Up
- 4×8 TGU @ 16kg KB
- Gym Jones Rules:
- Must alternate hands between each rep
- Do KB Snatch to change hands
- (i.e. 32x Get ups & 32x Snatches total)
- Clean & Press / Push Press
- 2×5 C&J @ 95#
- 2×5 C&J @ 115#
- 3×3 C&J @ 135#
- 5×3 C&J @ 155#
The last two sets @ 155# were push presses. We were moving pretty quickly between sets…maybe 90-120 seconds between each set. By the end my entire upper body was ready to just fall off.
Finished with 200x KB Swings (100x ea. arm).
That was a significant amount of work today.

Ah, Del. I also love “3rd Eye Vision” by Hieroglyphics, Del of course being the highlight of the album.
