Not much time today to get chatty. On to the workout.
We had a new workout partner today. Marathoner was there. Neighbor/Drinkin’ Buddy was there. I was there. And Sandy showed up today.
Sandy is Charlotte’s sister. I triple-bagged 50# of sand and dropped it all into an old army duffle that used to be home to a side and a half of high school rugby jerseys. Welcome to the club, Sandy.

Unfortunately, it took about 10 minutes for the aptness of the name “Sandy” to click.

Ha ha, I’m still trying to figure out “Charlotte”.
Chris, you are nuts. But in an entertaining way, at least. I’m still waiting for Bond to make his own slosh pipe so that I can watch and laugh.
Charlotte, I’ve got.
That’s the name of the company that makes the pipe.
Perhaps this Sunday a trip to home depot is in order. Cycling has definitely taken the foreground, but the slosh pipe was on the agenda for the sprint.
Doc Charlotte is a company that makes PVC, cast iron and ABS piping. I imagine that “Charlotte” has her name embossed across her front.
I am going to try and work on my own slosh pipe tonight. It’s got a slow leak that needs mending.
Mr. Base-uh-ball to fass..
You guys are all too funny.
Both JB and Jesse are correct. Charlotte comes from the Charlotte Pipe Company, of Charlotte, NC.
Sandra (or, informally, Sandy) is, of course, named for her innards.
I just went and looked up the meaning of the name Sandra. It comes from either/both Cassandra and Alexandra.
Cassandra means “unheeded prophetess”. Cassandra predicted the fall of Rome, but was unheeded.
Alexandra is the feminine form of Alexander, meaning “warrior” and “man’s defender”.
I wonder which one Sandy is?
My mild dyslexia had me reading Cassandra means “uncooked potatoes” out of the corner of my eye.
