More Wussification
I saw an advertisement yesterday for the newest Trivial Pursuit game…”now with With three different levels of difficulty — easy, medium and hard — everyone has a chance”…presumably, a chance to win.
Ugh. Not everyone deserves a chance to win! It’s Trivial Pursuit, not preschool. It’s for smart people, who know trivia. The people who know the most trivia win the game. Other people win other games - maybe Chutes and Ladders, maybe Pictionary, maybe 5km races - but not Trivial Pursuit.
This idea that stupid is better than smart, that everybody is qualified to do anything, that just showing up is ‘good enough’ is ridiculous. I’d like to see this trend reversed and sooner is better.
Workout
I was pressed for time yesterday morning and had to make some tough decisions. I decided to go to the gym, do my squats and then head into work. I missed the regularly scheduled end of the workout, but got in the “Main Course”. 20 rep squats continue.
- Appetizer
- 10x Overhead Squat @ 45#
- 8x Overhead Squat @ 95#
- 6x Overhead Squat @ 115#
- 4x Overhead Squat @ 135#
- The Main Course
- 20x “Breathing Squats” @ 245#

If a moron can become president, maybe everyone IS qualified to do everything.
This is exactly what I’m afraid of.
This debate tonight ought to be interesting. Palin seems so ill-equipped…but I just can’t imagine the Republicans sending a knife to a gun fight. Maybe there’s something tricky up their sleeves. I don’t get it, and I don’t like it one bit.
Folks around here have taken to calling her “Yukon barbie”
I am with you, on paper seems a total mismatch, so either the ‘pubs really are dumb, or they have some trickery up their sleeves.. either way no good.
