Things are hectic around here. We’re about 1 week away from a code freeze on one project and 3.5 weeks away on another and kicking off two more at the same time. (We’re also trying to hire someone, which means I might be getting some help soon…but it also means I have to spend time sitting in interviews. Not complaining, just explaining.) I’m working not-quite-double-time to keep up and my blogging-queue seems to be running about a day behind. My apologies.
Wednesday Workout
- Nigel
- The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and…
- Marty
- Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
- Nigel
- Exactly.
- Marty
- Does that mean it’s louder? Is it any louder?
- Nigel
- Well, it’s one louder, isn’t it? It’s not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You’re on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you’re on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
- Marty
- I don’t know.
- Nigel
- Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
- Marty
- Put it up to eleven.
- Nigel
- Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
- Marty
- Why don’t you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
- Nigel
- These go to eleven.
It was a beautiful morning to be outside. About 50°F, clear sky, still air. Awesome. There were three of us - Marathoner, Parth and me - and we did a variation of the Gym Jones regular “Louder than 10″.
- Warm Up (waiting for Parth to show)
- 1200m Jog
- Louder than 10 (variation)
- 11x
- 5x Renegade Man-Makers @ 2-16kg KB
- 10x Push Ups
- 15x Swings @ 16kg KB
Total time: 30:14.
I think any of the three of us could have done it faster alone…the Renegade Man-Makers were the bottleneck. It was a reasonable workout nonetheless.
