Late last night, Marathoner joined my Master the Met team. That brings the team count to three, with two more “on the fence”. I’ve invitations out to several others, but I think most of them will say no.
- Warm Up
- 10x Clean & Press @ 115# : 1rep/15sec
- 10x Clean & Press @ 135# : 1rep/15sec
- 5x Clean & Press @ 160# : 1rep/15sec
- 5x Clean & Press @ 160# : 1rep/15sec
- Getting Warmer
- 5x Deadlift @ 345# : 1rep/15sec
- 5x Deadlift @ 345# : 1rep/15sec
- 8x: Cooked
- 3x Front Squat @ 235# +
- 3x Chin Ups @ BW+35#
- 3x Military Press @ 135#
There was no deliberate rest between the front squats, chin ups or presses - just enough time to walk from station to station. That heavy 8×3 sneaks up on you. Everything’s going just fine - heavy, but fine - until about set 5 or 6…then BAM!…”What the hell am I doing?”
All of that took just more than an hour - maybe 1:10-1:15.
I’d ~pant pant~ definitely ~pant pant~ call that ~pant~ pickin’ it up ~pant~ a bit.

If you include one front squat for each of the cleans in the warm up, that’s a front squat volume of 9740#. Not bad for a Friday morning.
