Some 6 or 7 inches of snow dumped on STL last night. Got up at my regular time of 4:50, checked quickly online and realized the gym was closed. My workout this morning was improvised at home.
- 1x
- Shovel Driveway and Sidewalk
- 10x
- 50x (25x ea. leg) lunges of all varieties
- 15x push ups
- 20x squats @ BW
- 5x finger-tip pull ups on the I-beam in my basement
…for a total of 500 lunges, 200 squats, 150 push ups and 50 pull ups. I was done and in the shower by 6:15. Not bad for being locked out of the gym.

pfffftttt. Shut down after only 6-7″? STL could seriously take some winter lessons from WI. Also, we believe in snowblowers here, although our household does not own one and we often get stuck with the shovel. It’s a hard thing to do with good form.
Yeah. As a city, we’re completely worthless when it comes to snow and ice.
Like your old home town (Doc), we get maybe one moderate winter storm each winter and the entire city goes nuts-o.
…people raiding the supermarkets and stockpiling food, crazy driving on the ice, every public place shut down.
It’s bizarre.
Then you have the guys in their big trucks, who all think 4-wheel drive = 4-wheel stop and go flying through stop signs, sideways, wheels locked up, at 40mph.
Those are all just some of the many reasons I’m trying to teach myself to hibernate.
