Sweaty Man

There’s a new man added to the story of my training. But workout first:

Workout

4x on Treadmill
5:30 @ 10% incline & 5.5mph
3x on Erg/Rower
300m @ 1:55/500m pace
1 min Rest

The original plan was to do 8x on the Concept II but I totally crapped out at three. Maybe more on Friday.

Sweaty Man

There’s a new man I see in the locker room a lot lately. I think he’s a New-Year’s-Resolution-Guy…but it’s the middle of February and he seems to be sticking with it so I have to give him some credit. Give him another month or so, see if he turns into a regular.

The man sweats. He sweats more than anyone else I’ve ever met (and, in 20+ years of amateur sport I’ve seen some sweaty guys). First, the guy wears sweatbands (and appears to need them). I counted 5 today. One on each wrist, one on each biceps and one on his head. They were all soaked.

But that’s not all. When I got out of the shower and was shaving and getting dressed, he came in to the locker room, took off his soaking wet shirt, hung it on the stall door in front of a fan (to dry?), put on a new shirt and went back out to the gym for more. I’ve never seen anyone have to change his shirt - indoors - because it had gotten too sweaty.

Sweaty Man seems nice enough. He’s said hi to me a couple times. (Not creepy ‘hi’ like the Naked Guy I’ve written about before, just regular, fully-clothed, non-rhetorical ‘hi’.) I’m sure he’s a decent human being…but, man, can that guy sweat.
