Training Complete

This morning marked the end of my training for the big race this Saturday. Wednesday and Friday mornings I’m going to go back into the gym, do some very light hip mobility work and spend 90 minutes or so bench pressing and doing chin ups.

If these last several weeks of hellish intervals haven’t prepared me for the Met, it’s unlikely I’ll ever be prepared.

This Morning’s Workout

3x: Treadmill
7:30 @ 4.5mph & 15% incline
~8:00 rest
1x: Concept II
1km Row @ ~1:55/500m pace
last 250m were @ 1:40/500m pace

By race day, it will have been 5 weeks since the awful deadlifting incident. My back is feeling pretty strong. I haven’t felt pain there in a while. I don’t think it’s going to cause me any problems on Saturday.

Friday

3x: Treadmill
7:30 @ 4.5mph & 15% incline
~8:00 rest
1x: Concept II
2km Row @ ~2:00/500m pace
last 250m were @ 1:45/500m pace

My Weekend

On Friday night, our son kicked out the (already very loose) bottom front tooth of our daughter. It bled a lot. She handled it pretty well. Friday night was our first visit from the tooth fairy.

Sunday, I spent most of the day building a new computer for my mother-in-law. It was kind of a pain, but we all made it through successfully and I got a lunch of spaghetti and meatballs for my efforts.
